Aerial Work

We have considerable experience in the sector of aerial work which can be a difficult area to operate within the law. In today’s emerging market for renewable energy sources we advise on the suitability of sites from the aspect of aviation safety. This includes inspecting tenders submitted by companies for aerial survey in the vicinity of wind turbines on off-shore wind farms, as we did successfully on behalf of a high-profile client working alongside the British government. We have also advised the Scottish Government on the tendering for offshore surveillance operations for fisheries and border protection.

Our work includes advising on the risk and providing advice on compliance for aircraft operators undertaking aerial work for:

  • Surveying purposes
  • Pipeline inspections
  • Installation of overhead power lines
  • Aerial filming
  • Filmwork
  • Newsgathering

In the emerging market for renewable energy sources, we advise on the suitability of sites from the aspect of aviation safety.

This includes inspecting tenders submitted by companies for aerial survey in the vicinity of wind turbines on off-shore wind farms, as we recently did on behalf of our client, The Crown Estate.

We also advise on local authority planning applications for the erection of masts for wind turbines on land and their impact on aviation safety.
